Lazar Markovic
The Serbian international had been hoping to make sufficient impression on Jurgen Klopp to be retained at Anfield for the season, but he was told he should go out on loan and joined Sporting Lisbon on deadline day. He’s made a slow start to life back in Portgual, but he did manage to get on the scoresheet in a 3-3 draw with Vitoria Guimaraes last week. He has mostly made substitute appearances but did manage to get a start in that game and will be hoping to keep his place following the international fixtures. Danny Ward
The Wales international is having a good spell in the Championship since joining Huddersfield Town. Managed by Klopp’s former Borussia Dortmund colleague and friend, the Terriers are top of the league and have a two point lead over Norwich City. They have the second best defensive record in the division and have ground out some impressive results. Ward has started every game so far this season and has a firm grip on the gloves with Joe Murphy and Joel Coleman providing little competition.
Adam Bogdan
Bogdan has been less impressive than Ward so far this season at Wigan Athletic. He dropped a clanger against Norwich last month that cost his team a goal and a point – which would have been useful given they find themselves battling relegation. The Hungarian has been more solid of late, but he isn’t doing anything like enough to show that he has a future at the top level. He’s back at the level he should be playing at and is likely to end up making a permanent return to the Championship some time in the future. A certainty to move on from the club, Boylesports have stopped even offering odds for his departure and is clear this is one player that will be consigned to the LFC history books.
Ryan Kent
The young winger is also spending time playing in the second tier with Barnsley. He has put in some impressive performances which have seen him become something of a regular for the Yorkshire club as they challenge for a play-off place. He has managed one goal so far this season, which was an impressive one against Rotherham United back in August. He has said that he wants a future at Anfield and is showing that he has the talent to try and achieve that.
Ryan Fulton
Fulton, who is another goalkeeper out on loan, is with League One club Chesterfield – who are hovering just above the relegation places. He is playing behind defence who have conceded sixteen goals from eleven matches so far this season while contributing some impressive saves. He conceded two penalties in a 3-3 draw with Gillingham recently, which he can shoulder little responsibility for. After a spell in League Two with Portsmouth last season he is proving that this step up is not too much for him.
Jack Dunn
The young forward signed a six month loan deal with League Two side Morecambe. And he is performing well, scoring six goals in fourteen appearances – which includes a hat-trick against Championship club Rotherham in the League Cup. Dunn will turn twenty-two next month and looks unlikely to have much hope of a future at Anfield, but does look assured of finding a Football League club after some impressive performances so far this season.
Jon Flanagan
The England international has so far failed to make a single Premier League appearance for newly-promoted Burnley as they seek to avoid relegation. He did start a League Cup, however, but his side went down 1-0 to Accrington Stanley. He has been an unused substitute on a few occasions, but he looks to have a lot to do in order to get regular football at Turf Moor.
Andre Wisdom
The defender has so far struggled to hold down a spot in the FC Salzburg team since making the switch to Austria. He made a late substitute appearance in a 4-0 league victory against Admira Wacker and followed that up with a start in a 1-0 loss against Krasnodar in the Europa League. He was back on the bench against Sturm Graz in the next league game, which his side lost 1-0 also.
Sam Hart
The young left-back made his first start for League Two Port Vale in their 3-1 win over Millwall – and got an assist in the process. He played further up the pitch and provided a cross for Remie Streete to nod home for the third goal. He kept his place for the next game and was man of the match despite his team going down to a 2-0 loss against Coventry City. The former Manchester United trainee will be hoping to keep his place in the side.
Lloyd Jones
The twenty-one year old has been a regular in the Swindon Town side so far this season, but he recently suffered an injury against Northampton Town that saw him miss the following game. He scored his side’s goal in a 2-1 loss against Bury last month.
Allan Rodrigues de Souza
Touted by Jurgen Klopp as ‘an outstanding talent’, big things are expected of Allan. The young Brazilian is spending the campaign with Bundesliga club Hertha Berlin. He has mostly been an unused substitute, but made his first start in a 3-0 defeat against Bayern Munich in September. He was back on the bench against Eintracht Frankfurt and Hamburg, but managed to make a late appearance in the latter as his side won 2-0.
Taiwo Awoniyi
The Nigerian teenager has made five appearances so far for NEC Nijmegen, but is yet to find the net in four Eredivisie appearances and one cup game. He has only played the full ninety minutes in one game so far this season and will be hoping not to be substituted as often going forward.
