EMRE CAN SET TO SIGN NEW LIVERPOOL DEAL

Liverpool midfielder Emre Can is set to put pen to paper on a new deal, keeping him at the club until 2021.

Tutto Mercato Web reports that the German midfielder will earn around £100,000 a week as part of the new deal.

Can has been in contract talks with Liverpool for some time, as he prepared to enter the final 12 months of his previous deal.

Juventus had been linked with a move to sign the midfielder, with the Italians hoping to land him on a cheaper deal towards the end of his contract.

The German played a key role in Jurgen Klopp’s side last season, with his most memorable moment coming away at Watford. The midfielder found the back of the net from the edge of the area with a brilliant acrobatic effort towards the end of the season.

Can’s new contract is likely to be the first of many deals over a busy summer for the Reds with the likes of Mohamed Salah and Virgil van Dijk being linked with moves to Anfield.
