Fans making their way to Anfield can expect to see some significant changes as part of the Main Stand expansion works and wider regeneration plan for the area.

Matchday Road Closures:
There will be changes to routine road closures with Walton Breck Road now closing to all vehicles 1 hour prior to kick-off and the temporary closure of Anfield Road pausing on a matchday, as routine road closures apply, 1 hour prior to kick-off.

Matchday Stadium Access:
The current work and demolition areas mean pedestrian access to the Stadium via Baltic Street and Bagnall Street will no longer be possible by foot or vehicle. Back Rockfield Road will only be partially accessible. Fans will be rerouted via Anfield Road and Walton Breck Road.

LFC would like to ask fans for their support by keeping to the designated pedestrian access roads and allowing extra time to get to the stadium. Signage will be positioned around the stadium to direct fans and stewards and police officers will be present on matchdays to help reroute pedestrians and vehicles to minimise disruption.

There will be no changes to the pre-match disabled drop-off point, taxi drop off points or key bus services including Merseytravel’s Soccer Bus and 917 services. Matchday car parking locations will continue as last season (2014/15).

Matchday – Stadium Information:
In order to ensure that the expansion works can continue safely, construction hoardings will remain in the former Main Stand car park, located at the rear of the Stand. The hoardings will be in place for the duration of 2015/16 season.

There will be no changes to the route taken into the Main Stand by the LFC first team coach, the team’s arrival into the Stadium will continue as last season (2014/15).

Exit gate 11, for seats in the Upper Anfield Road Stand, (Blocks 221 to 228) will remain as at the end of last season (2014/15). Supporters leaving the Stand will be rerouted through a quicker exit door, leading directly onto Anfield Road.

Matchday Marquee – Hospitality Guests
Significant progress has been made on Anfield’s redevelopment since the end of the 2014/15 season. The 650 tonne roof truss was successfully erected above the Main Stand and the existing two storey hospitality building at the rear of the Stand has been demolished, to allow the two structures to be connected.

As a result, LFC will operate a temporary hospitality facility in a custom built marquee located between Tinsley Street and Gilman Street. Matchday support staff will be on hand to direct fans safely and conveniently into the Stadium from the marquee to ensure minimal disruption.

Matchday – Arrival
The Club is encouraging all fans to plan their route to the stadium in advance of the first home fixture against Bournemouth at Anfield on August 17th and to allow extra time for their journey. All fans are advised to be at the stadium 30 minutes prior to kick-off.

Please check that your Season Ticket/Membership card is up-to-date and activated.

Matchday – Anfield Residents
It is advised that residents with parking permits should continue to clearly display them in their vehicles to allow direct access on matchdays. Residents without parking permits travelling to and from their homes on a matchday by taxi are advised to carry some ID which displays their name and address details to show to the matchday stewards, ensuring access is permitted.
