Jurgen Klopp on the brink of a record

Liverpool will face Everton in a crunch Premier League Merseyside derby on Saturday. And Jurgen Klopp, the Reds manager, can make history here.

Klopp could become the first Liverpool manager to win his first three Premier League Merseyside derbies, the stat being taken from the Premier League official twitter handle.

Liverpool have largely dominated this fixture in recent years, with Everton having not won at Anfield in their last 16 visits in the Premier League. However, no Liverpool manager has ever won three Premier League games in a row against the Toffees.

In Klopp’s first Merseyside derby, Liverpool eviscerated Everton 4-0 at Anfield. This season, a late 90th minute goal from Sadio Mane sealed full three points for the Reds.

Liverpool are undefeated in their last three games, and are heading into this match with full confidence. However, Klopp is missing several key players for this game, with the likes of Jordan Henderson and Adam Lallana being ruled out through injuries.

Everton have lost just once in their last 12 Premier League games, but have won just once away from home in their last five outings.

The outcome of a derby game is hard to predict, but given Liverpool’s superior home record over their rivals, Klopp could make a record on Saturday.
