Klopp keeping calm in transfer window

The Reds failed to build on their thrilling opening weekend win at Arsenal as they came unstuck at Turf Moor, failing to convert their 80 per cent possession into goals as they lost 2-0 to the Clarets.

The defeat highlighted Liverpool’s defensive issues again with James Milner getting the nod to start at left-back after Alberto Moreno’s poor showing in the 4-3 win at the Emirates Stadium.

While Klopp says he does not want to see a repeat of Saturday’s defeat, he has ruled out making any snap signings just because they failed to win.

The German has acknowledged there are areas of his squad that he could improve but says he is unsure if he will add another player to his ranks before the transfer window closes at the end of this month.

Klopp told reporters: “If one game should change my mind then I would be a real idiot. I know you [questioners] would all buy a left-back but a midfielder?

“Emre Can was on the bench, he had a back problem, Lucas Leiva is injured and you ask me for a hard midfield player?

“The answer is I don’t know – we will see.”
