Klopp says his current Liverpool squad is his best ever

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has revealed that his current squad is the best he has ever worked with.

Speaking to LFCTV after his sides impressive 5-0 away victory to Porto in the Champions League last week, the German coach said:

“It’s really hard in the moment to make the squad,”

“Wow, I’ve never had a situation like that with the quality of the players not being in the squad.

“They all have made really big steps. Dom Solanke was not in the squad but is in outstanding shape at the moment. Ragnar Klavan, unbelievable. Ben Woodburn makes steps and is really close to everything.

“It’s difficult, it’s getting more and more difficult, but that’s good for us of course.”

Liverpool currently sit in third place in the Premier League, and are on course to reach the quarter finals of the Champions League after their devastating attacking performance in Portugal. They face Porto in the second leg of their last 16 tie on Tuesday the 6th of March, and the Anfield faithful will be confident that their team will be a match for anybody in Europe at the moment.

For Klopp to call his current group of players the best he has ever worked with is praise indeed – especially when you consider he won the Bundesliga and reached the Champions League final with former club Borussia Dortmund.
