Liverpool 4-1 Stoke

Liverpool moved back up to second in the Premier League table after coming from behind to thrash Stoke 4-1 at Anfield this evening.

The visitors took a shock lead when Jonathon Walters glanced home a header which proved too much for Simon Mignolet at his near post for 0-1 in the 12th minute.

However, the Reds levelled things up when Adam Lallana fired home from a tight angle to make it 1-1 in the 34th minute before Roberto Firmino put his recent arrest for drink driving behind him by lashing in a left-footed strike off the post just before half time.

Liverpool then doubled their advantage when Imbula put a Sadio Mane cross in to his own net before substitute Daniel Sturridge pounced on a back pass to round Grant and slot home for 4-1 and secure the win.

The victory sees Liverpool move back up to second in the table and cut the gap on leaders Chelsea to six points from 18 games played.
