Liverpool boss Klopp: We could’ve signed in January, but…

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp refuses to blame a lack of winter signings for their dramatic decline.

Liverpool failed to strengthen their squad during last month’s transfer window despite Klopp targeting Paris St Germain’s German international midfielder Julian Draxler.

But he refused to blame a lack of investment for their decline.

“I cannot say yes it would have been fantastic if the club could have given me new players,” he said.

“We had opportunities but didn’t find the right players. It’s not because we were blind, it’s because the players were not available.

“It was not a money issue, there were different reasons.”
