Liverpool owner John W Henry has made a bold prediction about how the Merseyside club’s season will go.
As reported on the Liverpool Echo, the owner has been impressed with the progression under Jurgen Klopp and believes that the defensive problem that the club used to have has now been wiped out.
The Reds boast one of the best defensive records in the league and only conceded their first league goal at Anfield since February on Saturday against Cardiff.
Henry’s baseball side Boston Red Sox recently claimed victory in the World Series and the owner is hoping for similar success for Liverpool this season. He said:
Kiev was painful. But getting there, you could say we’re a little ahead of schedule.
I think Jurgen has solved our defensive issues and we are really strong at the back and really strong in midfield and everyone knows how good we are up front.
That, as well, is a very special team and it could be a special season.
Liverpool currently top the Premier League and are unbeaten in the opening ten matches. Klopp’s side face in-form Arsenal next weekend in a huge match at the top end of the table.
