Mignolet: Liverpool cannot afford to worry about Chelsea

Liverpool will not place any emphasis on what opposition clubs do at this stage of the Premier League season.

The Reds find themselves five points behind leaders Chelsea who have a game in hand which takes place at Tottenham Hotspur on Wednesday night.

However, goalkeeper Simon Mignolet has made it clear that he and his teammates won’t be focusing on what the Blues do as they strive to overcome Monday’s disappointing 2-2 draw with Sunderland.

“It’s way too early to look at other teams,” he told Liverpoolfc.com.

“We just have to look at ourselves and keep doing the things we are doing well and learn from the things we are doing better.

“There are certain things at Sunderland, we can learn from and if we can do that then we know we are a good team with so much quality, and we can make it a really good season this year.”
