Paul Ince makes prediction about Liverpool FC next season

The Reds finished in fourth place in consecutive seasons in the 2017-18 campaign after Jurgen Klopp’s side managed to finish ahead of their bitter rivals Arsenal and Chelsea FC.

Liverpool FC managed to reach the Champions League final before a 3-1 loss to La Liga giants Real Madrid in Kiev last month.

The Reds were the first Premier League team to beat champions Manchester City last season after a 4-3 victory over Pep Guardiola’s side in the Premier League.

Liverpool FC were 3-0 winners against the Citizens in the first leg of their Champions League quarter-final before a 2-1 victory over Manchester City in the second leg.

The Merseyside outfit finished 25 points adrift of Manchester City in the Premier League last season to highlight the size of the gap between the two clubs.

However, former Liverpool FC captain Ince believes the Reds will challenge Manchester City for the Premier League title next season.

“I expect them to be up there again challenging,” Ince told Goal. “It all depends on who City will buy.

“City will buy. You hear the owner say we will dominate for the next 10 years, we will win every title.

“[City owner Sheikh Mansour] is not going away from a money point of view. So it is all about who buys what but it bodes well for an exciting Premier League next year.”

Liverpool FC lost 3-1 to La Liga giants Real Madrid in the Champions League final last term after goals from Gareth Bale and Karim Benzema.

The Reds signed Fabinho in a £39m deal from AS Monaco in the summer transfer window.
