Playing with you was more than any title!

Arvalo Arbeloa has paid tribute to Steven Gerrard following the Liverpool legend’s praise of him this week.

The Spanish full-back is approaching the end of his time at Real Madrid as his contract gets set to expire this summer.

Arbeloa has spent seven years at Santiago Bernabeu, making 233 appearances and helping the club to one La Liga title, two Copa Del Reys and one Champions League.

So it’s only right that he was hailed in his final home appearance against Valencia at the weekend and continues to be praised ahead of potentially playing his final game for the club at the weekend.

Arbeloa isn’t retiring, but he’s still earning plaudits from former team-mates in his career.

Before signing for Madrid, the Spaniard three seasons at Liverpool and was loved by everyone involved at the English club – including Gerrard.

The Anfield great (who now plays for LA Galaxy ) posted an Instagram tribute to Arbeloa yesterday following his final home appearance on Sunday:

The Real Madrid full-back responded with his own tribute to Gerrard, insisting the time spent playing alongside the midfielder meant more to him than any title he’s won in his career.

It’s a love-in Liverpool fans will love to see between two of their former players.

As for Arbeloa’s future, there is talk that he could become Aitor Karanka’s first signing after leading Middlesbrough into the Premier League.

The pair know each other from their time together at Madrid when Jose Mourinho was manager of the club and the Spaniard could see the move as a good challenge at the age of 33.
