‘Reinforce these two departments to win trophies’

Liverpool are the best Premier League club during last season judging by their exploits in European scene.

The Reds made it through to the final stage of UEFA Champions League competition for the first time in 13 years, though they failed to clinch the trophy as they were thrashed by Real Madrid, who were rampant at the final third of the pitch throughout the encounter.

Despite Liverpool’s brilliant run in the European competition, the same cannot be said of their performance at domestic League as they were made to wait for their first trophy under Jurgen Klopp.

The German manager, who took over from Brendan Rodgers in 2015, is yet to win any trophy with the Reds and he is becoming impatient with his players.

Having seen the manager’s unhappiness with how things has been since he made his switch to Anfield Stadium from Borussia Dortmund, former Liverpool player Danny Murphy has advised the tactician on what to do to turn his team to a tittle-winning side in the upcoming season.

While speaking to TalkSPORT, the legend advised Klopp to reinforce two departments of his team if he wants to lay claim for many trophies in the 2018-19 season.

According to him, Klopp must get new defenders and a quality goalkeeper in the ongoing transfer market.

The legend believes the Merseyside Klopp are strong enough at the midfield. Fabinho and Naby Keita would both join the Merseyside club for pre-season tour and that will surely be an upgrade to the team’s play at the center of the pitch.

“I still think the keeper thing needs addressing and I think it will be addressed, and maybe another centre-back. But in terms of attacking areas I think they’re alright.” Murphy said to reporters – cetusnews.com.

Roma goalkeeper Alisson and Nick Pope of Burnley are the two netminders heavily linked with Liverpool’s move. Rumours also have it that Chelsea want-away goalie Thibaut Courtois might surprisingly move to the Reds this summer despite interest from Real Madrid.
