Swansea 1-0 Liverpool

Liverpool crashed to a 1-0 defeat in Wales this evening against bottom-side Swansea, failing to capitalise on Spurs’ slip up against Southampton yesterday.

The Reds were also unable to build upon last week’s scintillating showing against Manchester City, with question marks appearing again as to how much they miss Philippe Coutinho.

One man who was singled out for his performance this evening was Emre Can and Twitter didn’t let it go unnoticed…

A first-half goal from Swansea’s Alfie Mawson inflicted Liverpool’s first defeat in 19 and saw them come crashing back to earth following last week’s win over Manchester City.

The Reds showed signs of missing their starman, Philippe Coutinho, as they failed to unlock a resolute Swansea side who finished the night worthy winners.

Mo Salah and Emre Can both added to Liverpool’s sheer wastefulness in front of goal, which in the end was their major downfall.

The only goal of the game was scored by Mawson who rifled home from inside the area after Virgil van Dijk failed to clear his lines after a corner.
