Woodburn chooses Wales

Ben Woodburn has been called up for the Wales squad for their forthcoming World Cup qualifier with the Republic of Ireland next week. Despite captaining the Welsh Under 17’s side and playing for the Under 19’s, the Liverpool forward was eligible to play for England having been born in Chester, and the FA were hopeful that he would pick the Three Lions rather than the Welsh Dragon, but it was not to be.
Wales currently lie third in Group D after four games, four points behind the Republic of Ireland, and two behind Serbia.
