The second division club have are led by majority shareholder Hasan Ismaik and the Jordanian businessman is looking to progress the club to the next level.
And he sees Ayre as one of the people who can help him achieve his vision for the club going forward.
“We want to get the best people to help us.” he told Munchner Merkur.
He went on to reveal that he has held discussions with club president Peter Cassalette and Ayre over the deal.
“Peter Cassalette and I have led the conversations with him. He is the right person for our future.” he said.
