Divock Origi: I’ve set myself high targets

Liverpool striker Divock Origi is determined to build on last season’s goalscoring record.

The Belgian scored 11 goals from just 21 starts in all competitions in 2016-17, one more than the 10 he struck in his debut year at Anfield.

And he is aiming to do even better this term by concentrating on simply enjoying his football.

“I’ve made steps and it’s [up to] me to keep progressing. I feel really good so I go into the season with a lot of excitement,” Origi told Liverpoolfc.com.

“I’m going to take it game by game, training session by training session, just trying to express myself and enjoy myself. When I enjoy the game, I always play good.

“I set personal targets, high targets – it’s always good to be very ambitious and tough on yourself, and I think that will push me to do well.”
