Emre Can will ‘likely be sold’ this summer if he doesn’t sing, says James Pearce

Emre Can has been the subject of a lot of Liverpool related criticism over the past few weeks with many expressing their frustration over the dip in form of the midfielder.

The German has endured a tough run of games in which time has made mistakes and struggled to have the kind of impact Jurgen Klopp will have wanted him to have. He isn’t the only player in that position, though.

We hate to talk negatively about a Liverpool player and our frustration is only fuelled by the fact we know he has the technical ability that makes him capable of offering much more than he has been of late.

The Liverpool Echo’s James Pearce has described how there is certainly doubt over Can’s long term future on Merseyside with contract negotiations still ongoing between club and player.

He said: “I wouldn’t say Emre Can is definitely off but his future is certainly up in the air.”

“He has been stalling over a new contract and clearly believes he’s worth more than Liverpool are offering.”

“Hopefully it will be sorted before the end of the season. If he doesn’t sign then it’s likely he will be sold because I can’t see Liverpool letting him enter the final year of his current contract.”
