The 23-year-old defender has only managed eight appearances for Liverpool in the last two seasons and Jurgen Klopp sent the full-back to Burnley for regular game-time.
English full-back has gone on to make three appearances for the Clarets in the Premier League and now looks to be confident to make a return to his boyhood club and play in the starting lineup.
‘I just want to play regular football and get back into the routine I was in two years ago,’ Flanagan told the Daily Mail.
‘I never doubted for one second I’d be back, I’m mentally tough.
‘We’ll see where it goes from there, and hopefully get back to Liverpool and a starting place.’
‘My ideal season? Burnley to qualify for the Europa League and Liverpool to win the League.’
Merseyside Reds are currently struggling at the left-back position and Flanagan could be an answer for Jurgen Klopp’s problems.
