Jamie Redknapp raves about new Liverpool FC signing

The Reds signed the Guinea international in a £48m deal from Bundesliga outfit RB Leipzig after the two clubs agreed a fee in the 2017 summer transfer window.

Keita has filled the vacant number eight at Liverpool FC to become the first player to wear the prestigious shirt since club legend Steven Gerrard left in 2015.

The 23-year-old has already impressed supporters with his dribbling skills in the middle of the park during their pre-season campaign.

Former Liverpool FC captain Redknapp is tipping Keita to have a successful debut campaign at the 18-time English champions.

“He’s a little powerhouse — an all-action hero in midfield,” Redknapp told the Daily Mail. “Keita has a great touch, will make goals and score them.

“There is also devilment in his play and that could get him in trouble. We saw that last season when he was sent off four times.

“When Manchester United visit Anfield in December, I’m sure they’ll use every trick in the book to try to wind him up!

“But if he keeps his cool, he can be such an important player.

“The only time Liverpool missed Philippe Coutinho was against the more stubborn sides when they struggled to unlock the door.

“Keita and fellow arrival Fabinho can bring that guile to Jurgen Klopp’s midfield.”

Jurgen Klopp will be hoping Keita can fill the void left by Emre Can after the Germany international completed a move to Serie A champions Juventus on a free transfer this summer.

Liverpool FC have signed Brazil international Fabinho in a £39m deal from Ligue 1 side AS Monaco in the current transfer window to further improve their midfield options.

Klopp snapped up Swiss star Xherdan Shaqiri in a £13.5m deal from Stoke City before the Reds spend a world record fee for a goalkeeper on AS Roma’s Alisson Becker.
