Klopp tells fans: Don’t sing my name

The hosts celebrated the opening of the enlarged main stand with a resounding win over last year’s struggling Premier League champions.

With their side coasting to the win, Liverpool’s supporters serenaded their manager with songs of praise but Klopp has asked them to instead sing about the players.

“Please don’t sing my name before the game is decided,” he said.

“When the Kop started singing it [Leicester] were alone in front of Simon Mignolet.“I don’t play. It was the same at Arsenal. It is nice but not necessary.

“I am really on the side of the players. I am responsible for our bad performances, they are responsible for the good performances.”
