Premier League is most difficult league in the world

Jurgen Klopp has echoed the sentiments of many managers before him by claiming that the Premier League is the most competitive in the world.

He has claimed that to even get into the top four of the Premier League is a task in itself, and that he is desperate to do so come the end of the season.

He said when speaking to the Liverpool Echo: “But of course the Champions League is THE competition. We want to be part of it. To get there we have to win a few games.

“I am sure that England has to be the most difficult league in order to qualify for the Champions League, 100%.

“It’s probably easier to go through to the next round from the group stage of the Champions League than it is to qualify in the first place in England.”

Klopp has claimed that the club have suffered from the amount of fixtures they had to play at the turn of the year, and that was the cause of their season disintegrating somewhat.

The Reds are still well in the fight for a top four place, and may find that being out of the cup competitions actually does them a favour when it comes to that. Something Jose Mourinho has hinted at extensively.
