Pundit claims Mohamed Salah is Liverpool FC’s Lionel Messi

The former Man United midfielder gives his verdict on Mohamed Salah’s form for Liverpool FC

The Egypt international moved to Liverpool FC from Serie A giants AS Roma in a £39m deal in the 2017 summer transfer window.

The Reds forward has scored an incredible 43 goals in his first season at Liverpool FC to move to within four of Ian Rush’s record.

The 25-year-old scored twice and made two assists in Liverpool FC’s 5-2 win against AS Roma in the first leg of the Champions League last four.

Salah has the chance to break a Premier League record held by Luis Suarez and Cristiano Ronaldo if he scores against Stoke City on Saturday.

Former Man United star Strachan believes Salah deserves his recent comparisons to FC Barcelona legend Messi.

“On the basis of the year, you’d say yes,” Strachan told Sky Sports.

“He is doing Messi things now, You can’t stop him. He can move you in different directions. He can go by you. He has everything in his locker.

Salah spent eight months at Chelsea FC in 2014 before he moved to Serie A side Fiorentina on loan.

The Reds will make the return trip to the Italian capital to take on AS Roma in the second leg of their Champions League semi-final next week.

Liverpool FC are in third place in the Premier League table and three points behind Manchester United.
