REDS HEAD TO SPAIN!!!

Jurgen Klopp is set to take his Liverpool side to Spain for some warm weather training to attempt to clear the memory of his side’s collapse against Southampton on Sunday.

The German manager will take all players not on international duty to the Canary Island of Tenerife.

Amongst the players expected to make the trip – scheduled for today until Friday – are Kolo Toure, Steven Caulker, Jon Flanagan, Tiago Ilori and a number of others.

Klopp has also reportedly invited the players’ wives and girlfriends to the Spanish island for the duration of the stay.

After Liverpool’s disappointing second half showing against Saints on Sunday afternoon, it’s thought Klopp believes the warmer climate might help the team’s recovery – as well as the added bonus of being away from Melwood, even just to clear the air.

Of course, most of Jurgen Klopp’s squad are in fact away on international leave.

Jordan Henderson, Daniel Sturridge, James Milner, Nathaniel Clyne and Adam Lallana all join up with Roy Hodgson’s England. Emre Can, Dejan Lovren and Philippe Coutinho – among others – are also away with their respective countries.

Roberto Firmino, who withdrew from Brazil’s squad before the Southampton game, is due to stay and continue his rehabilitation. Lucas Leiva and Alberto Moreno are still also sidelined.

Liverpool take on title chasers Tottenham on April 2nd, before heading to Germany to face Klopp’s former side Borussia Dortmund on April 7th.
