Brewster finished as top scorer at the U17 World Cup with eight goals as he helped England to win the tournament and Milner believes that the striker is a major talent.

As reported by the Liverpool Echo, Milner said: “During the international breaks we have games (at Melwood) and I’ve played with him a few times.

“He’s definitely a talent. He can score goals which is the hardest thing to do in football.

“He’s got a lot of pace and he’s a good lad. He wants to listen and learn – that’s half the battle I think.”

Rhian Brewster has scored 20 goals in 22 appearances for England U17s

Milner revealed that the Liverpool squad watched England’s 5-2 victory against Spain in the final and couldn’t resist mocking Alberto Moreno regarding the outcome of the game.

He said: “It’s amazing what they did out there. It was great to watch it. We had their final on in our dressing room after the game at the weekend.

“We were giving Alberto Moreno a bit of stick at the same time!

“They did us proud and it’s amazing for England to see our youth teams putting in performances like that.”

Brewster has yet to feature competitively for Liverpool at senior level but he was on the bench in the Premier League last season and it surely won’t be long until the 17-year-old is provided with an opportunity to showcase his credentials on the big stage.

A standout performer for Liverpool at U23 level so far this season, Brewster has scored three goals and provided four assists across his six appearances in Premier League 2.
