Roma goalkeeper Alisson flattered by Liverpool transfer interest

Roma star Alisson has admitted interest from Liverpool is flattering, but insisted he is not thinking about a potential move in the summer.

The Brazilian goalkeeper has been linked with a transfer to Liverpool for several months, and the focus on a rumoured swap has intensified with the Reds taking on Roma in the Champions League semi-final.

Roma seem set to go out of Europe at the hands of Liverpool, and Alisson could be one of their stars who may angle for a summer switch.

But the 25-year-old is not thinking about his future and is fully focused on performing for Roma.

He told Gazzetta dello Sport: ‘I don’t know what will happen (in the summer). Obviously, the interest makes me happy.

‘But I don’t think it’s a question of needing (to move). I know what I’m worth, not money wise, but as a player.

‘I know what I bring to the team, but I only think about the present. What happens next, we leave for later.’

Reports have claimed Alisson could fetch a fee upwards of £50million, which would be a record amount paid for a goalkeeper.
