Salah: Drogba urged me to break Prem record

Liverpool winger Mohamed Salah says that he was urged to break the Premier League scoring record by Didier Drogba.

Salah capped off an incredible season for the Reds, where he managed 44 goals in all competitions. He also scored 32 goals in the Premier League, which is a record in a 38 game season!

The winger is now attempting to recover from a shoulder injury sustained in the UEFA Champions League final so he can star for Egypt in the World Cup.

“When I reached 20 goals, I spoke with Didier Drogba,” Salah told L’Equipe Magazine.

“He told me: ‘Please, break the record!’ to which I responded laughing: ‘No worries, I will!’

“And I managed [it]. So I thought to myself, I have quite a few games to play before the end of the season, I can break the all-time record! It’s a great source of joy for me.”
