Jurgen Klopp has admitted that Liverpool are eager to sign new players this month.
The Reds have been largely inactive in the January transfer market thus far but that does not mean they are not interested in bringing new players to Anfield.
In the wake of Saturday’s shock 3-2 home loss to Swansea City, Klopp spoke of his club’s desire to make some signings but is well aware that a lot of rival teams are not keen to sell their key players at this stage of the campaign.
“It is absolutely normal that people ask whether we should have brought players in,” he said.
“It is not that we don’t want to bring players in – we do. But the players we want, because we think they help us, their clubs don’t sell. It is not about money in this situation, it is the winter transfer window.
“Clubs are saying ‘no, we have half a year to go, we cannot find another player like this, we prefer to take money in the summer, (rather) than a few pound more in the winter’.
“So it is pretty easy.”
