Jamie Redknapp has hailed Sadio Mane’s display for Liverpool in the win over Arsenal saying the winger gives the Reds a different dimension, speaking to Sky Sports.
The Reds were in scintillating form on Sunday as they beat the Gunners 4-3 at the Emirates.
Mane was particularly impressive, with his pace and power up front causing the Arsenal defence problems throughout.
He capped his display with a fine solo goal that saw him beat several players before firing a wicked shot into the top corner of Petr Cech’s net.
And Redknapp was impressed, saying he’s not seen many players in the Premier League score a goal that good.
“Mane, how good was he? He gives you a completely different dimension,” he told Sky Sports.
“I think Liverpool, for a number of years; everybody has wanted the ball to feet. He goes the other way. The goal he scored, I’ve not seen many players in the Premier League who can do that.”
It now remains to be seen whether Mane can continue to impress for Liverpool after a strong start to life with the Reds.
Many an eyebrow was raised when they paid Southampton nearly £40 million for his services this summer, but that is beginning to look like something of a bargain already.
