Liverpool 2-3 West Brom

It was all going so well when Roberto Firmino’s delightful chip gave the Reds an early lead, but Jay Rodriguez hit back straight from the kick-off.

Rodriguez added another to turn the game on its head and Craig Dawson thought he made it 3-1 but it was ruled out for offside via VAR, and then the drama really started.

Liverpool were sensationally awarded a penalty after referee Craig Pawson took around three minutes to make the decision after consulting VAR and replays do show that Jake Livermore pulled Mohamed Salah down in the box.

However, Firmino missed the resulting spot-kick to leave Anfield stunned.

It got worse for Jurgen Klopp’s side when Dawson’s awkward cross went in-off Joel Matip to give Albion a 3-1 half-time lead. VAR was consulted though before being eventually given.

The second-half was pretty mundane compared to the first but Salah pulled one back to set up a big finish but Liverpool could not find the equaliser.
